Residency and exhibitions

Since 2015, co-op has been inviting artists to take the time to explore the intangible heritage of the Basque Country, from north to south. Our traveling creative residencies are designed for the long term: they offer artists a space to immerse themselves, meet others, and share knowledge. During these residencies, artists work with a network of partners—researchers, artisans, residents, associations, art centers—and build their projects in contact with the region and those who bring it to life. At the end of this journey, their works are produced and then presented within this same network, extending the exchanges and encounters that nourished their creation. To conclude each cycle, a publication brings together and recounts these experiences. It allows for the sharing of research and creations, and reveals the links between memory, territory, and invention.
